Like you I am seeing today for the first time on my timeline an East End School showing pictures of their triple A* A Level students. None of them look particularly delighted, the school is tweeting from their main school account and not their Sixth Form Account.

The 4 accounts are Oftsed, , No 10 Downing Street and their own Sixth Form Account.

If I'm sounding suspicious it's because I am. Whilst wishing every student featured every success in their future lives something tells me that this one school has either had mucho funding and resources pumped into it or it's being used to promote government academy status.

An academy is a state-funded school that operates independently of the local authority, meaning it's not controlled by the council. Instead, academies are run by an Academy Trust and funded directly by the Department for Education.

They have more freedom in how they're run, including curriculum, staffing, and budget management.

If that's what it takes to match the success rate in exams of Private schools then so be it but let's have it for all schools not just some so that they can boast on exam results day.
